Biography
Daniel Kneebone is a professional Designer & photographer working for Sotheby's Australia. His personal work Daniel has developed his own style utilises colour pixels for painting and a camera to capture images from his imagination. His current art practice explores live performance art, which highlight professional artists’ in the industry. In doing this, he creates multi-layered images where fiction and reality meet, narratives emerge, and past and present fuse. He does this by combining a strong sense of colour, light, and composition to depict theatrically dramatised characters, which create a sense of wonder and intrigue. With strong influences from pop art, film, and popular culture, Daniel often references women performers and other modern female archetypes. Daniel is currently represented by the Jackman Gallery, St.Kilda.

Professional Experience
Daniel is an experienced photographer and designer specialising in the art auction industry. He gained extensive experience working for Christie’s Australia as their dedicated in-house Art Director for more than 12 years under his own business name Monitor Graphics. He then built on this experience working with well-known art auction houses including Sotheby’s International, Bonhams and Goodman, Leonard Joels, and his most recent in-house appointment at Sotheby’s Australia where he has held the position of Senior Designer and Photographer for the past seven years.
